Another July day on the Farm....

We woke to the rooster crowing, the birds singing and the bees buzzing in harmony.
We'll have a slow day as the workers will not come till later, to continue on our expansion of our house. Decided to go to visit the puppy that Roni ( our 10 year old) will get after he grows some more.
We walked of course there, meeting up with folks that stopped to chat and share a laugh or two. First there was Arpi our next door neighbor. He is the "Capi-de-touti-Capi" he de Boss ! He is the Priest of the Unitarian Church and he is the soul keeper and spiritual leader of the 200 or so of our little community. He has been very generous with his time and knowledge of this here our new land. His son and my David (13 yr old) are close friends. His wife a doll , always a smile finds its way to her lips and only kind words come out, has always been helpful here.
Last year she took me along with our other neighbor, Irma the Teacher, to the Grand Harvest Festival, in the center of our village, where all the girls and boys dressed in their finest Regional Traditional garbs , were a site to behold. The Teacher always referred to as Ms Teacher is the ex wife of another priest and now lives alone save for the son that comes on the weekends. She also was a hello today on our way to see the puppy.

Soon there was a door that opened and we entered to be greeted by Andris Bacsi (Uncle) who showed us, the house his brother just bought and they are fixing it up so that the city folks can move back home unto the farm. In the kitchen a heath the size of three fridges , what bread could be baked there, what pizza? He showed the barn and the wood house too, and everywhere antiques like a Jawa motorbike, a bench that was at least 100 yr old and many smaller artifacts that were for killing rats, taking boots off, spinning wheels and hundreds of other curios.

Continued to Andras Batcsi ( Yes Andris and Andras) to see the puppy and that's when the excitment began. We were greeted and he immediately started to show us the damage and devastation that he endured during the past few weeks. His fields were all covered and there was a great deal of loss. He has almost everything, such as tractors, plows, trucks, hay carts, cars, bikes and motor bikes. Every type of farm animal and many of each.

He gave David his puppy and Roni is getting his soon . We all get our honey from him and the grains as well as we help him pick apples , pears, raspberries and more in return we get to bring home too. He has a mill to grind the corn, the wheat and the brans to a fine powder. Yes, we have chickens now, twenty five little chicks and a mother hen. So life here is amazing, as I can only judge through the eyes and hearts of my sons, they are Very Happy here and I guess that's what makes me the happiest too. My Matild is in Heaven, on Cloud 9, in Paradise, every day well, almost every day. Save the days she breaks down screaming for help, as this is really a Big Job, and I am not really that into it all, so poor thing has to wrestle it almost all herself. For this she is Happy and as I said sometimes sad too.

The boys love it when they are at Andras Bacsi as they get to see pigs born, cows just weaning and rabbits getting it on, as I said to my wife, "They think this is Disneyland on the Farm" and are having the time of their lives enjoying every minute of every day.
Since I was the only one that Andras showed the big house that sits across his, he went to get the keys and opened one door after another just like museums do as this was a museum that stood still for decades. Hand carved dinning room set with so many pieces besides the table with the 8 chairs , that it was surreal to imagine 8 people in there too.

Next floor behind a locked door the Stash.....Bacons, sausages and other smoked meats and prepared vegetables and jarred fruits and please let's not forget the cases and barrels of wine all in a tiny room. The smell was heavenly and my taste buds ran away as it was close to eating and we've been gone for almost three hours.
Well, we did get 25 kg of mashed corn also two old tractor tires, that the boys want to use for rolling themselves down the hills as well as float on them in our stream. Mom added when they get tired of them we'll make two swings out of them. Yes, we re-use and renew almost everything. For instance, I never knew that the egg shells is a treat for the chickens and if you feed them enough, their egg shells will be stronger. Also, the boys go bug hunting for the chickens as well as look for worms. The two turtles we have get tiny fish, live from the stream and flies, as many as I can catch. Yesterday eighteen of them added protein to the shelled ones.
Our pregnant cat and our dogie both are fed table scraps and leftovers. Yesterday a cheese started to go, and we gave the two rascals a real party feeling as they love their treats here too.

Will try to upload pix and vids for all the words, a picture is worth a thousand!

On our way hone we stopped at the General Store just to pay a dept but 100$ later we ran out of there, as we have always bigger eyes and here that is a void, many things are far away and we have been conditioned for way too long this way, hard to reprogram ourselves, but am trying, trying really trying!

THE ADVENTURE OF YOSSEL THE HASSID

Yossel the Hassid is in London on business. It's now one hour to shabbos and he’s all dressed up in his sabbath clothes ready to go to a loca synagogue.

He takes the lift to the ground floor and walks towards the exit, as he reaches the reception area he sees a stunning British Airways hostess with blond hair and a face and figure you could die for. She has just checked in. As soon as she sees Yossel, she stops in her tracks and walks quickly over to him

"Hello," she says to him.

"Hello to you too," he says.

"I have a confession to make," she says.

"What is it?" he asks.

"I have a sexual fantasy," she says.

"Nu, so go on," he says.

"I've always wanted to be with a Hassidic man. I want to run my hands up and down his white silk socks, run my hands over his prayer shawl and my fingers
through his beard, play with his curly sideburns, eat latkes with him, poke my finger in his puppik, remove his pants, play with his schmeckle and then
shtup him. So I want you to join me now. I have a room upstairs just waiting for us. What do you say?"
Yossel looks at her thoughtfully and says, "And what's in it for me?"

The economy……..how Stimulus works.....

It is a slow day in the small Minnesota town of Marshall, and the streets
are deserted. Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody is
living on credit.
A rich tourist visiting the area drives through town, stops at the
motel, lays a $100 bill on the desk and says he wants to inspect the rooms
upstairs before selecting one for the night.
As soon as he walks upstairs, the motel owner grabs the bill and
runs next door to pay his debt to the butcher.
The butcher takes the $100 and runs down the street to retire his
debt to the pig farmer.
The pig farmer takes the $100 and heads off to pay his bill to his
supplier, the Farmer's Co-op.
The guy at the Farmer's Co-op takes the $100 and runs to pay his
debt to the local prostitute, who has also been facing hard times and has had to
offer her "services" on credit.
The hooker rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill with the
hotel owner.
The hotel proprietor then places the $100 back on the counter so the
rich traveler will not suspect anything.
At that moment the traveler comes down the stairs, states that the
rooms are not satisfactory, picks up the $100 bill and leaves town.
No one produced anything. No one earned anything. However, the whole
town is now out of debt and looks to the future with a lot more optimism.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how Stimulus works.
